About Us

Sjop started in January 2025 as a side hustle - a small, determined step toward building something of my own for my two girls. I wanted them to grow up watching their mother build something, not just talk about it. By day, I work as a marketing manager in Sandton, with years spent in clothing retail. By weekend, you'll find me at my little French-inspired boutique at Railways Café in Irene, surrounded by everything beautiful.
I've always been drawn to the extraordinary kind of beautiful - the soaps, the candles, the tissue oils, the small luxuries that turn an ordinary gift into something special. The kind of thing you give someone not because the occasion demands it, but because you saw it and thought of them. Over time, that love grew into something bigger: a full range of bath and body products alongside fragrances I make myself, each one inspired by the scents I adore, blended and bottled by hand.
There's no factory behind Sjop, no warehouse, no team of chemists - just me, a growing collection of oils, and a lot of trial and error in pursuit of something that smells genuinely beautiful. Whether it's a fragrance, a tissue oil, or a soap, every product starts with a scent I love and a question: what makes this feel French, feel elegant, feel like something you'd want to use every day? I test, adjust, and test again until it's right.
Every order, every scent, and every detail is something I pour myself into, in the hours between everything else - late evenings, early mornings, and weekends at the stall. It's not always easy to balance, but it's mine, and that makes every part of it worth it.
Thank you for being part of that journey — whether you're shopping online or stopping by the stall this weekend. Every order, big or small, helps build something my girls can be proud of one day.
